MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

The Auxiliary is a volunteer organization. Membership is open to any citizen of the United States who is at least 17 years of age. A Personnel Security Investigation (PSI) will be processed as part of enrollment and must have a favorable determination to complete one's membership in the Auxiliary.

A monthly commitment of at least 10 to 20 hours is a great guide. Some of our members have more available time, but all members are asked to provide some level of support in one or more of our mission areas.

AN INVITATION

If you are interested in learning more, please attend one of our monthly meetings which are open to the public. For information on meetings please click the link under members to the left.

After the meeting the Flotilla Commander, our local unit leader, can talk more in depth with you. A New Member Study Guide will be provided.

The complete membership package consisting of an application, fingerprint cards, and ID photo will be submitted to our Director of Auxiliary in Portsmouth, Virginia. Processing generally takes 6 to 8 weeks.
